I had a chance to speak with Jami, Revolution Boi, about the current releases in mixes/sets and how he has been cheated out of gigs by DJ’s who bring laptops to the party and use Acid Pro to please a crowd. Well, his latest CD, Nagisa, is a prime example of how live sets are and how they have always been done, live.
It looks like everyone has been trying to put out sets but they are all just failed attempts to bring something new to the table save a couple of albums. Tired of seeing all of the Hardstyle sets, hint hint, Revolution Boi decided to take another route in trying to introduce a more eclectic sound and Nagisa is one of them. The tracklisting is phenomenal and who doesn’t appreciate a little Cyber-Trance here and there?
After listening the first track after the Intro, it brought me back to when I first heard Cyber-Trance which was Ayumi Hamasaki’s Ayu-Trance. A few years ago while chatting with him on the Hypnotika Forums, I remember him telling me why he chose the alias, Revolution Boi, simply to revolutionize the sound of music - And Jami, you’re well on you’re way.
